  43. Yep, this is the typical VMS "bootstrap" procedure for Kermit.

  51. You're running a recent C-Kermit on the 
  52. Unix system?  If so, tell it "set transmit
  53. pause 250" to have it pause 250 ms between lines.  You can turn this
  54. number up and down to whatever gives you the fastest
  55. reliable transfers.  You could also greatly
  56. lower the baud rate to the console port, too.  (If my memory
  57. is correct this requires setting the switch on the Microvax II and
  58. then rebooting.  It might even take a 120 Reset after setting the
  59. switch for the change to take effect.)

  61. Make sure you've got a Hex-ified Kermit binary that'll run on
  62. a 4.6 machine.  I think most of the recent ones have been compiled
  63. and linked under 6.0 or later.  Somewhere on kermit.columbia.edu
  64. there are supposed to be binaries that'll work on a 4.x machine,
  65. but I can't find them at the moment...  I'm sure Frank will appear
  66. shortly and point out exactly where to find them!
